November!
Hopefully this newsletter finds our American friends fat'n'happy after their Thanksgiving feast and with any luck, finished the last turkey sandwich!
Riding season has slowed slightly, and now that Thanksgiving is over,
did you know there are less than 40 days till 2008? and
the holiday season is around the corner, do you have your plans yet?
We have some great ideas if you’re looking for gifts a little out of the norm this season!
MMR has big news for the riders out east and winter sun seekers!
MMR is Expanding!
Shaums and the MMR crew would like to welcome Billy Allison, based out of NY, near Plattekill.
Billy will be working as Mad March Racing's East Coast regional Manager.
Billy has had extensive experience working with Plattekill and in the past year has put together MMR’s first Learn to Ride Center at Plattekill resort.
He was also introduced to MMR through taking a race camp himself.
“Shaums’s method of teaching is one of the most accessible, easy to understand methods I have ever experienced.
It worked with me and I have seen more advanced riders benefit from it as well. When Shaums asked me to join the M.M.R. team,
I was honored and excited to think that I could be a part of passing the same skills that helped me, on to other riders all over the east coast.”

MMR Jr.Team Rider Miranda Miller
Miranda Miller, is not only the sole female on the MMR team but she can school most of the boys and this is how she see's it!
The MMR Team trains and races all year round traveling through the province together,
but rarely do we get to hang out and ride somewhere new while learning from the best.
So this year we decided to do just that.
Thanks to Red Bull and MMR we went on a road trip to Silver Star Resort.
The rumours had been correct, Silver Star was amazing! We had perfect riding conditions,
with massive sky berms, fast technical and a lot of flow, the trails were amazing.

Personal Training for the Off season.
Think back a few months when you we either half way down a race course or having the time of your life at the Whistler Bike Park and suddenly,
you were out of gas! Hands slipping off the bars, legs burning and arms collapsing over the easiest of table tops.
Did your thoughts sound something like this..."next year I will be soooo fit, sooo strong, I'm going to train sooo hard this winter...."
The MMR Team is training together now; they meet 4 times a week with personal programs developed for each individual.
If you are interested in a "coach and a plan" for the off season read on...but make sure you let your riding partner in on it,
or you'll spend a lot of time waiting around at the bottom for him next summer!

Ok so as a lot of you know I’m always on the go, and here’s where I am now; Cali for Thanksgiving, coaching and family time.
Made the choice to drive down to California from BC and visit friends on the way, first stop, Seattle to visit
John Sullivan “Rotec bikes”, who's also Bowing Airplanes decal guy. John used his expertise and applied our new domain logo on the van, thanks John!
Isaac, my 11/2 old son, got really sick so we extended our Seattle visit and almost turned around.
The Santa Barbara semi-private clinics went great and the Demo day was again a success, promoting the new 2008 Wolf Ridge, Quake and Quad XC.
I also met Paul Smith from the Los Prietos Boys Camp, who invited me to come talk to the wards,
we both thought it would be exciting for a Pro athlete to come and talk to the boys.
After plans were made and goodbyes said, I checked
www.nearbio.com on my cell to located the nearest Biodiesel station before we headed to my brother for Thanksgiving.
I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving, I'm still stuffed and in need of some exercise!
I’m off to chase Isaac the newest and youngest member of the MMR team.

Tip Of The Month by Shaums
Having arm pump on the trails really takes the aggression out of your riding.
Make sure you're not weighting your arms to much nor hanging from them when your riding,
Your weight should be on your feet, (you can walk all day, could you do that on your hands..? I think not.)
Try it out let me know your thoughts.

MMR's Winter Riding Tip
The Bike is the Subject and Wet Weather is the Problem
With wet cold days ahead I want to make sure I have a good grip,
the ODI lock on grip will make sure you never loose grip on your bars.
One of the cheapest ways to upgrade your bike and add confidence is to go with the many options offered by ODI.
