Hawaii, just incase you missed it...!
Early winter in Hawaii was filled with violent weather, we were lucky to find the trails had been repaired and unusually dry March weather made the riding incredible. We had 2 acres on the Langer ranch to coach on, making it easy to set up an area to work with our clients.
The Makawao Forest trail network that has been built is amazingly smooth and flowy, it has a bit of climbing which is expected since you start at the base of the mountain.
Overall the week went quite well, we met a few different groups of local riders that knew the trails and got to hang with a couple of long time friends. The combination made for a better experience then we expected!
Thanks guys, can't wait to see you next winter! Read More...

Jim D in Ecuador.
Jim D, one of our urban freeride specialists, attended the Urban Downhill race in the capital Quito in Ecuador on March 16th. Later, on March 22nd, he hit the country's annual National Downhill race.
The plan was to compete in both events, as well as doing some coaching with the Mountain Cycle team for Patricio Navas. With the assistance of a translator Jim’s will be coaching and riding all the hot spots.
We haven't heard from him yet, but with such an amazing trip planned he's probably out riding! We'll be sure to pass on the details in our next newsletter, in the meantime check out our web site to read his story!

Shaums heads to the Tour de California, Santa Clarita
Santa Clarita to Pasadena was the final stage of the 7 day Tour De California event.
Though I really don't know much about road riding, I know the one stage of this event was so packed with fans it made us mountain bikers drool.
I was excited to find Marin had arranged for a 20x100 area for their fleet of 08 demo bikes and our demo clinic area. We set up cones and ropes to navigate through tossed in with a skinny to test riders balance. For those keen enough, a raised teeter totter was there to try. Our area was one of the biggest pits there, and also proved to be one of the busiest!
Mother nature, however, had her own plans! Dangerous winds and easy-ups tents flying around closed down the celebration early. All was not lost though. In typical RedBull style, the RedBull Bus battened down the hatches and had its own private party...on the bus. But that’s a whole ‘nother adventure story!

MMR Jr.Team and Marin Rider Miranda Miller
Miranda Miller, is not only the sole female on the MMR team but she can school most of the boys! Here's how Miranda deals with winter...
When you're feeling those winter blues, and skiing just doesn't cut it anymore - what should you do? Tagging along with Shaums to Bootleg Canyon for some pre-season training is the answer Dave Hord and I came up with. With Marin suppling the bikes we were able to ride the trails of Bootleg any way we pleased, whether it was on a 29er or a Quake. With winter raging back home, getting back on the bike and being able to cruise a few laps never felt better.
